 Commissioned by Mease Manors – now rebranding as Mease Life, to create a Resort pool and Aerobics pool complex for their new Wellness Center. Located in the center of the existing campus the pool area was designed to provide a destination are for the residence as well as providing a recreation and exercise component to the Wellness Center. The resort pool features a sundeck with lounge chairs and bubbles for that special touch of animated water movement. Designed with the concept of passive separation, the spaces are close but separated by function, so the exercise groups are not being watched by the resort pool groups. Also, by moving the perimeter fence back 6’ from the pool deck, the decks can be surrounded by a soft green landscape edge. Night lighting will allow Mease Life to have occasional functions and gatherings poolside. Shade cabanas were designed around the perimeter to provide much needed shade from daytime heat as well as privacy for small groups. Overhead shade fabric keeps the Aerobic pool users from direct mid-day sun. Terra tectonics design group was responsible for the entire pool design and concepts as well as materials selections.
