University of South Florida

    LOCATION: Tampa, FL

    SCOPE

Landscape, Entry Wall, Outdoor Furniture/Cafe, Hardscape, Admin Building, Entry way

    ABOUT

At the very beginnings of Terra tectonics we were tasked with developing a new layout for the old Administration Building's original terraced entry, courtyard, fountains and MLK plaza terminal seating area.  The original entry consisted of a series of large scale platforms that was not ADA compatible and was covered in dangerous slippery pebble stones. The paving was chosen to be a long-term dense clay-brick material with a banding pattern that was followed through out all the new campus paving areas. The fountains were restored and brought back to life. The addition of signage and the wall seating was a much-desired bonus to the campus administration center.  Terra Tectonics worked with architect David Valladarez, AIA to select plantings and assist in the design of the planters for the new café at the Student Center. Proper material selection and integration of the irrigation and drainage into the planters were part of the design project.
