Hired by the Westshore Alliance which is a consortium of local business to oversee the infrastructure in the central corridor median of Westshore Boulevard, in Tampa, Florida. TTDG provided project management, permit coordination as well as conceptual design, planting & irrigation design and lighting design for the medians and then the painting of the concrete medians to provide color and intertest using the Westshore Alliance color theme.

Special selections of 'Silhouette' Sweet Gum trees are proposed for the medians due to the restricted canopy spread and tolerance to Central Florida environment. Shrubs and ground covers are Florida Friendly landscape selections choses for durability and tolerance to heat islands in the center of roadways.

A portion of this project is the painting of the concrete medians with matching colors to the Westshore District. TTDG chose a geometric pattern to match the walls on I-275 which bisects the district as well as suing a long slowing curvilinear pattern in the center portions of the medians. This is to add color and brighten up the usually dull and dark medians. The concrete stain is durable and cost effective solution for public art.
Coordination with City of Tampa Parks department and there staff to coordinate watering times from there central location. City of Tap utilizes the second largest MIR system in the world for central control operations and the TTDG staff worked closely with the city to blend this project into their system.

Tree string lights are proposed for each of the trees. These will be powered by solar powered batteries for each median. Cost effective and does not require directional bores for power distribution.
TTDG is the project manager for design presentations as well as permitting and approvals for the project.
